According to many sources on the Internet, in the 2nd Korean Kiseong tournament in 1990, the best of 7 final between Cho Hunhyun and Yoo Changhyuk had a score of 4-1-1. Does anyone know what happened in the void game? |

From the GoGoD Encyclopaedia: In the final, Game 2 was to be held in China, at the Heavenly Lake in the Changbai Mountains. But there were no diplomatic relations between South Korea and China at the time, and permission to hold a sporting event had not been obtained in advance (a travel company made all the arrangements). After 8 moves the police intervened. The game was called off, and was replayed with the same colours, the replay counting as Game 3. The significance of the venue is that it offers views into North Korea. The 8-mover is in the GoGoD database. I think this (1990) is a young person's definition of 'historical'. To me it seems just like yesterday. |

I would call the fall of the Berlin wall a historical event. I'm middle aged so it doesn't feel like yesterday. But I totally get what you're talking about, John. I do not follow pop music as I used to do and am frequently puzzled by a "come back". I would think that group just released their next album. |
