I played Magicwand on 7 stones and barely eked out a win. If Balmung is at the same level when he played me, it will be a very tough game for him.

The only reason 7 might be enough is that the slow time limits might let the 6/7k avoid the most obvious blunders... I'll bet on MW for this one... ;)

I'm pretty sure I couldn't stand MagicWand with 7 stones. Not even with 9. Whereas I think it could be possible with others dan level players...

7 stone game is hard to win if my opponent uses middle stone well. i have to worry about influence so my move is restricted.
if i start answering his move then i will lose for sure..so i have to start somewhere else as i did..
i hate it when i can not grab influence. annoying!!!!!
he can give me everything on the side and still win easily that is why i jumped two space.

I am glad he is dan. Every 7-5 kyu I play lately plays stupid invasions that shouldn't logically work, and because my fighting was bad they got away with it. I had to spend hours studying life and death just to learn how to punish these people. MagicWand will not make such vulgure invasions, he will make logical invasions because he knows what good go is :-).
