Fei Dao as in flying dagger.

Describing a trick play where you can fall into a trap and come out way behind, but even playing correctly, your opponent's result is still decent.

There are a HOST of choices here, all leading to different games. White A would invite the kobayashi opening where Black would play at c or e. I've never won a game as White where I've played at B so I have an irrational hatred for that move and will not play it even though it's fine :P I chose a low one space pincer over the fancier high pincers because it's simpler and I can limit the amount of variation.

I don't like B's last move : I find it isn't coherent with right corners stones that are influence oriented, and the wall W will get is well faing hos hoshi stone.

Is it often played in strong players (ama or pro) games ?

Preferences are funny. I don't like :w1: as white because I don't like leaving the double approach open. On the other hand, I don't like :w1: as black because, even if I get a chance to double approach, I feel like I don't get as much. :( I should probably just study the double approach more, as I always feel my opponents get more out of it than I do. Then again, I'm not even sure how good the double approach is in this fuseki.

I want to apply pressure to the bottom and the approach stone at the same time, I think this is the best point to do that.
