Missouri's federal court dismisses Niemann's $100 million claim as to anti-trust actions by Carlsen et al permanently and other aspects due to wrong jurisdiction. He can, however, pursue aspects of alleged defamation related to alleged cheating etc. at a state court.

Why didn't he use a state court from the start instead of wasting his own time on this expectable result.

Now there is this https://www.chess.com/blog/CHESScom/chess-com-concludes-legal-dispute-with-hans-niemann-niemann-to-return-to-chess-com

tldr would be the slightly misleading and out-of-context quote from Magnus Carlsen: "...willing to play Niemann..."

Probably a gamble, as many civil legal actions are.

The plantiffs - for some reason unknown to me - consider the federal venue to be a more favorable one. The filing costs are relatively small compared to the claim. The filing attorney is probably doing it for a share of the potential profits. So it may be a good bet.

If they lose the jurisdictional issue, they are out the filing fee. If they win, they have a chance of winning the main action. So the net expectation is big.

BTW, if you have any insights as to why this is an 'expectable result', I'd like to read them.

What a sorry affair from start to finish. Given the mention of anal beads, it is unlikely to gain entry to Edward Winter's ChessHistory site.

The MeToo letter and Transgender policies have also been attracting some attention...
