A new free website where you can practice tsumego.

http://www.ghost-go.com

GhostGo is in alpha. That means there are a lot of things that need improvement.
So any feedback is much appreciated.

Very nice!
I would hope for the interaction (i) choose level, (ii) solve lots of problems.
Here I zigzag: choose level, solve one problem, there is no way to continue that I noticed, go back, choose level again, solve the second problem.

Good advice! Thanks! I will make some button for this in these days.

It's obvious you've put a great deal of effort into this site, thank you.

That being said, there are some bugs. Here is one to work on:

For this problem - http://www.ghost-go.com/puzzles/10570 - how can I get a green checkmark to appear?

very cool.
I know it is still in alpha...
just to let you know what instantly was missing:

- i tried "log in with google" ... and than the login-button still looked like i am actually not logged in at the moment, that looks like a bug, would be nice to have a status change here

- if i choose a problem and than hit the "back" button in my browser (yet there is no "next" or something) ... other problems appear than before... which is a pity because i like the design very much... you see all those problems as a goo portion... i checked everyone a few seconds... than i want to start... but after that... the familiar "portion" is gone...
(sorry can`t make it so simple with my english skills, you know what i mean:)

But i`m sure this will be a good site similar but different to goproblems.com ... very cool, looking forward to it.

Thank you for your feedback! I've added a 'next' button for this.

Well done! Like the site very much and it's been a while since I've done as many tsumego as I did the past two days here. I hope this project keeps going.

Where are the tsumegos sourced from?

Agree, I love the site. It's a well done project.
I'd like to second Satorian because I also just wondered where you got all those tsumego from? There's so many and it's awesome :)

Most of tsumego and kifu(not open) that I collected were from the other website(goproblems/sina/tom/101/etc..) and the original source of them should be some books and some Go dojo exercises.

Was going through this nice site, and came to this problem:

http://www.ghost-go.com/puzzles/7249

I believe that extending up from the single black stone works, but it's marked as incorrect.

Sorry, I made a mistake. I misread the liberty situation.

I read this sequence, and mistakenly thought that white couldn't approach at 'a' due to shortage of liberties:
Click Here To Show Diagram Code
[go]$$c
$$ ---------------------------------------
$$ | . . . . . . . . . . 5 6 7 2 1 . . . . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . X X O 3 a O X O O X . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . X O O 4 O O O X X X . |
$$ | . . . , . . . . X X X . X . X , . . . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . . . . X . . X . . . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . |[/go]

But there is no shortage of liberties :-)

The correct answer is this:
Click Here To Show Diagram Code
[go]$$c
$$ ---------------------------------------
$$ | . . . . . . . . . . 3 . 1 5 2 . 4 . . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . X X O . . O X O O X . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . X O O . O O O X X X . |
$$ | . . . , . . . . X X X . X . X , . . . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . . . . X . . X . . . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . |[/go]

So the site is correct. Thanks for your work!

I only gave it a short try but I like it so far. Design is minimal which makes the site easy on the eye, and it loads quickly.

As a (very) minor criticism, I find the stones/goban a bit too large and haven't found a way to reduce their size on screen.

Seconded. Even with a really large browser window I get horizontal and vertical scroll bars.
There is now a "next puzzle" button, but with range upper bound set to 2k the reply is "No next puzzle".

Thank you! The no puzzle bug have been fixed. I guess the scroll bars should be a browser compatibility issue. Could you tell me which browser and version you are using?

This is Firefox, some recent version. A 1200x1000 window is not large enough to avoid scroll bars. Puzzle P-20217 echoes my clicks 12 lines below the place where I click. Maybe because the board does not fit on the screen?
