Probably the wrong thread to acknowledge that I once spent $12 on an espresso.

Though my typical cup is made at home. The beans cost $.75, the filter costs $.08, and I'm not going to calculate the cost of water and electricity, or amortize the equipment involved.

You must buy expensive beans! I can get decent organic beans for less than $10/lb from Costco and that makes at least 100 cups, probably main more.

A bit more expensive, but the big difference is the quantity of grounds I use. I use 22 grams per 16 oz brewed (pretty common amount, I believe). Cost estimate is based on $12 for 12 ounces.

How are you making coffee? 4 grams per cup is really quite little, unless perhaps you mean a 4 oz cup.

I like is STRONG and most people don't like to drink my coffee. But the idea of weighing the coffee and measuring the water never occurred to me.

Chipped in $5/month!

Is there a way to see when we hit the target?

I checked, and we have enough to cover this year's expenses, plus a cushion. If we get the usual minor contributions throughout the year we will probably have enough to pay next year's bills when they arrive.

But there is still not enough to buy all the admins pizza and beer after we pay the bills.
