Yes, not sure it was a good idea to put Takemiya and Kobayashi in the same team :D

Does someone know how the seed team players were chosen ?

The Japanese wild card players were certainly rivals during their careers in the last century but I don't think there was any personal animosity. As for the consultation part, Kobayashi and Cho were both territorial players and Takemiya is known for his "cosmic" style, but Takemiya has written that he "doesn't dislike territory" and both Cho and Kobayashi, at various points in their careers, chose moyo oriented openings. I agree it would be interesting to overhear the discussion, though.

Actually it is admirable that Cho, Kobayashi, and Takemiya agreed to play given their ages. They were definitely formidable players in their prime. I'm rooting for them. I think some of the younger players might underestimate them.

Well, I remember that Go World commented many times on their personal feud, e. g. that a photo of the two together was obviously posed because they were not on speaking terms.

About the tournament name, the proper Chinese Pinyin is 'Zhugang', which is an abbreviation of the tournament sponsor Zhujiang Gangguan(珠江钢管), a big company (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) manufacturing steel pipes. The tournament actually has a proper English name:

The PCK Cup World Go Team Championship

with PCK being the English name of the company.

I have no way of knowing proper pronunciation from Chinese character.
I've used Google translate and got that name.
Sorry about my ignorance.

After 5 round of Swiss league, Korean seed team advanced to semi final as 1st place with 5 wins. China seed team advanced as 2nd place with 4 wins, China wild card team with 4 wins as 3rd place(Less indivisual wins than seed team.). Korea wild card team 4th place with 3 wins.

So semi final match will be,
Korea(seed) vs Korea(wild)
China(seed) vs China(wild).

Some pictures at tygem.

This is how they set the board. Top is board for korean team to discuss and right is board for real playing. And play is relayed to Chinese team. There are hidden boards for Chinese team.

Yes, they are playing now and game is relayed at Oro and Tygem.

Also wild card teams are playing also for 3rd or 4th.

I wish they post each team's discussion after the game later.
