See Go Back on SL. Any disagreements with my suggestions before starting Game 2 here? Feel free to join Game 1 also/instead. |

I don't understand how it can work. A normal game is begun? By who? Who decides when it stops to go back to something else? |

Since I don't know how active this game will be, I was thinking anyone could stop by this thread and make a move or propose an undo (perhaps revert is a better term). Are you worried there would be too much arguing? |

I think at very least, the black and white players need to be identified. crowd-sourcing a "Go Back" game seems difficult. Even strong pros make some decisions based on personal style. |

I think crowd-sourcing is necessary; Go Back isn't supposed to end (unless komi is found ). We could require justification for every move, but then less people might want to play. I want to see how far this can go, and apathy/loss of players is bad. |

What stops a weaker player pulling a move to an inferior position? |

Justification is required for a revert. Discussion would happen then. |

And in the case of disagreement even after the discussion? |

Game 3? That could happen regardless of who's in charge. |

Sounds interesting! So... I would like to nominate the first "Go Back" at move 1 of this game already Namely, black normally begins at the top right corner. Otherwise it hurts my eyes slightly. My "proposal": |

It's a corner, and it makes me like "a" lots. |

Take the enclosure we wanted and treat the other two corners as miai. |

Hinder Black's expansion on the right side. |

We want a stone this corner too. |

If not, black will get 'a' and white will have to enclose lest he be pincered. |

Develop the 4-4 stone, while aiming at the vital point of 'a'. Addendum: |

Interesting shaddy, I would have opted for: |

This was my plan. aims at "a". A popular move, back in the day. See topazg's note for more. (Not that there is anything wrong with the enclosure. ) Now, IMO, the question for White is whether to play on the left side or the right side. |

Yeah, I wondered about your too Bill, that's where I try to play with a Black shimari in the top right and a Black 4-4 in the lower right when wedging - I wasn't sure if the application was the same here, so I played closer. Such a hard balance to get the point right, as always |
