Does anyone have any news about this? Apparently it will be in September in Seoul, but we haven't received the official invitation yet.

Is anyone from here going?

I found this page: http://www.kbaduk.or.kr/tournament/schedule.asp

Could someone who reads Korean tell me what this entry for September 17-23 reads?

09월 | 제10회 국무총리배 세계아마바둑선수권대회(KPMC) | 17~23일 | 대한바둑협회

Seems to be the KPMC?

Translation is pretty close, but I'd adjust it slightly:

September | 10th Prime Minister Cup World Amateur Baduk Championship (KMPC) | 17th~23rd (Days of the month, not time) | Korean Amateur Baduk Association

And the headings at the top of the chart indicate:
Month | Tournament Name | Date/Days | Host/Sponsor/Supervisor

Note that the Korean Amateur Baduk Association is not exactly the same as the Hanguk Kiwon. (Website: http://www.kbaduk.or.kr)

Has anyone heard any more news about this? We still haven't received the official invitation in Ireland. It's getting quite close to the tournament for making all the arrangements...

We haven't received any news either. I'm starting to think about going to the TIG in Cuba instead.

Yes, but it's quite fun to participate actually.

Is the tournament Swiss or a McMahon?

Post subject:  Re: KPMC 2015

When I was there is was a McMahon: the countries that were in the top 50% in the previous year were seeded as one point above the remainder.

So, almost a Swiss!

Nice to see Poppy in 3rd place, out SOSing USA. I didn't spot any UK representative; surprising.
