I've been playing some of this new boardgame called Hecks. It has similarities to Go, with capturing stones and making territory. Check the intro video here:

And come play on the server here:
https://hecks.space

There aren't many players online yet, hoping it catches on so I can have more opponents to play. :)

In the spoiler are a few examples of basic shapes in the game. If you want to discover some of these on your own don't open this. ;-)

From the top left going clockwise: Red has an alive shape on the edge. It just takes a single false eye to make life in this game. In the upper middle of the board both blue and red have alive shapes. On the upper right edge is a seki. The single red and single blue stones in the middle only have 1 liberty each, but cannot capture each other. In the lower right is a ladder. If red adds a move blue will capture them all next. Finally in the lower left is an example of blue not playing the ladder correctly. Blue cannot atari red next because red will capture that stone. Also red has miai to make a one space jump to either side making an alive shape.

Definitely developed by a go player... he caught himself calling the empty spaces liberties.

That looks like an interesting game; I might have to try it sometime!

In case you have access to a 3D printer you can now play this in real life.

Online playing schedule: Every tenth February 29th from 20:00-20:01 (if time permits)
I don't really think this is new, unless it has some rules which are not obvious. It seems to me like a simple variation of go which has been discussed many times.

Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

I don't like it how you can live with 1 eye.

i actually kinda like that, makes for a minimalist game, don't have to worry about ko for example.
