PW[Lilltiger]PB[Hanezeki]WR[1d]BR[3k]DT[2011-11-04]PC[The KGS Go Server at http://www.gokgs.com/]C[This is a teaching game from the Teaching Ladder. I believe he is actually 3-4d ranked, but has lost it due to not playing ranked games for a long time.

I usually don't go into games like this, because I can be somewhat difficult to deal with for a lot of people and I know that. So, I try to spare them the annoyance. I challenge everything I'm told and most people seem to get annoyed at this. Unlike they often think, it's not because I believe they're wrong or because I am intentionally being insolent, it's because if I am to "learn something new", I want to be bloody sure that it actually holds up. If I can find a hole in it by poking at it once, why would I want to learn that? So, if they can back it up with something I'll gladly accept it as being true. I just do not like unverified information that someone tells me where I just "have to take their word for it".

Anyway, the offer was up for a long time and no one else was taking it, I needed to play a game, so.. What the heck? I could try to swallow my comments and just play it for reading practice.

And again, my intention was not to play a passive boring game just because I know my opponent is stronger or something. I want to challenge myself.]RE[W+51.50]

I remembered wrong. Even in the joseki that I had in mind this is not the correct "sente" move and even if it were, I do not have a stone in F6 taking away a liberty anyway...

Blah. Annoying to remember shapes out of place and then play in according to that.

Instead of this, E16 would seem like the proper move. If white plays up there now and then plays forcing moves against my lower left, he has the frames of a large territory.]
