I've recently had a lot of trouble sleeping in general, and similarly, i've also experienced a string of losses/ Horrible games. What are your experiences with regards to how sleep affects your playing?

I dont suffer at Insomnia, but last night i dreamt pretty intense about playing go against an unknown opponent. This was an interesting experience... I remember how I was reading out a position quite deeply, but then i lost the dream and the game wasn´t finished.

I will endlessly blame my losses on lack of sleep, but really, I seem to win more when I should be sleeping (possibly, fewer distractions at that time).

Life is so complex that, if you're on a losing streak, it would be next to impossible to figure out whether it was because you were sleep-deprived, or stressed, or not getting enough sunlight/exercise/healthy food/social interaction. Those factors often come together. The law of small numbers is also a distinct possibility.

But sometimes I start missing ataris. When that happens, I'm confident that I'm sleep-deprived.

It's true - sleep and Go are fundamentally incompatible. You can not have enough of both in one life time. Live with it!
