Just stumble across an impressive ukiyo search site http://ukiyo-e.org/ and they have some materials on go related paintings : http://ukiyo-e.org/search?q=go+game There even has paintings on go with associated erotica art ! This one on ukiyo-e.org Same painting details from the british museum The description is somewhat interesting : Set of twelve small surimono-style erotic colour woodblock prints (and one duplicate), likening positions of love-making to strategies in the game of go; with printed wrapper showing a woman holding a tanzaku poem-card. |
