Can anybody here recommend some Chinese go-sites? And in particular a Chinese go forum? I would like to improve my Chinese while cultivating my hobby. :-)

Chinese version of Tygem:

http://www.eweiqi.com/

Yehu Weiqi (Fox Weiqi) is becoming quite popular nowadays with many pro events (you may need a QQ account and a Windows system):

Homepage: http://www.foxwq.com/
Download: http://www.foxwq.com/soft.html
Forum: http://bbs.weiqi.qq.com/forum.php

If you like correspondence games on the webpage with no time limit, Wuzheng Weiqi is a nice choice:

http://www.wuzheng.org/

Another active forum with many off-topic posts is Weiqi Tieba:

_There's this huge problem website: 101weiqi.com where you can also find pro game records, and maybe also commented games in chinese..
But mainly, the problems are what makes this website great: they are classified by ranks, tesuji types, books from which they were taken, etc. Lot of good stuff in there.
_There is also 3kid.net, a general website for kids with lots of weiqi material, mostly (exclusively?) problem collections to play online with Chinese voices congratulating you for being such a good student (at least that's my guess :D), things like that...
Hope you'll enjoy them :)

You probably already know this, but WBaduk is the English-language portal to a Korean site. However, they're a big site, with 3 servers dedicated to Chinese-language games. So, at least the chat on those servers would be in Chinese. Once you're fired up the Java applet to play/view games, click "Servers" on the top right to choose a specific server.

These are busy sites. If you are just interested in spectating, one hint would be to change your "Invitation" settings to "Ignore all invitations", or you will be asked to participate pretty often.

There are tons of lectures and other useful goodies on the web site, but they appear to be all in English.

[Update] Actually, the Korean side of the site appears to still be active at http://www.cyberoro.com/. I don't suppose that holds any interest? ;-)

Thanks a lot for the info, gohst dontbtme and gamesorry!

I have bookmarked your links, but haven“t had time yet to do much more than have a quick look at the front pages. I clicked a little more around on Fox Weiqi, though, and it seems to have a lot of what I was looking for. I already learned a thing or two. It takes time to get used to move around on a Chineses interface, though. :-)
