AlphaZero has led me back to chess after a long hiatus. Perhaps your daughter’s journey will go in the other direction.  Of course, I will be thrilled as a parent if my daughter’s “rebellion” is choosing chess instead of go as her intellectual game of choice.

I bought a set of go stones (the previous set was scattered by my children), which my son excitedly arranged on the go board. After he went to bed, my daughter and I played our first real game. I can’t find the 9x9 board, so we played 19x19. |
