This afternoon I was playing around with Deep Leela (Leela11) with a game between two luminaries of 19th century Japanese go. At a certain point I let Deep Leela play a variation and found it so interesting that I simply continued it to the end of the game.

I hope that you will enjoy it, too.

At the end of the SGF file I'll reveal who the human players were and when I switched to Deep Leela self play.

;C[*** Well, Black skunked White, winning by 56 pts. on the board. The game is mostly Deep Leela against itself. The game on which it is based was played in 1847 between Sakaguchi Sentoku II (White) vs. Shusaku. Shusaku won by resignation.
I switched to Leela self play early in the game, at move 17. Shusaku approached the top left corner, but Leela's suggestion of the invasion looked interesting. Then as the game unfolded I was fascinated. I hope you enjoyed it, too.

Oh, yes. The Deep Leela variation contained plays I never would have made, but nothing seemed unnatural or unfamiliar to me.
