I remember an article about 'hardwiring' go problems (i.e. doing them many times, looking at them upside-down, sideways etc. to learn them so well that solving them is completely automatic), probably on Sensei's Library, and IIRC written by DrStraw, but I can't find it any more. Could somebody please link me to it?

Thanks,

Will

Online playing schedule: Every tenth February 29th from 20:00-20:01 (if time permits)
Guess what. Go to my home page on SL and scroll down to the bottom.

Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Interesting idea. I think that I will try it.

Gogrinder for iPhone has a nice set of 150 basic problems, and it shuffles the color, position, and order of problems every time. I'm trying to be able to score 100% on it on every run-through in hopes of it yielding some improvement.

I know a EGF 5-dan, who went memorizing like one thousand Life-and-Death-situations while achieving his rank.
I know an aspiring EGF 3-dan, who has mass (after) Joseki knowledge (seems to know the complete Ishida) and who didn't do any Tsumego at least since he was 1k (though this was half a year ago, he didn't do any Tsumegos since I know him and that would be a year).

And here am I. I severely lack reading and I don't know any Joseki-variation but the usual ones and still I will eventually reach 3k next month.

Go sure is fascinating =)
