Has anyone else noticed that when you play Igowin and get to 1k then it takes you up to 6d if you win 6 more games and you have to lose 6 games to return to 1k. But if you get to 6d and win 6 games in a row it does not take you to 6p. Lose one game after that and you are dumped right back at 6d. Not a big deal, but slightly irritating.

Doc,

what version of Igowin are you using? Even playing on the IPAD Igowin it is difficult to hit 6 Dan and much less then win 6 in a row (I usually find myself in rapid descent against Igowin at 6D). At 6 Dan it is 2 stones and only a bit of komi. 6 straight wins at 6D on an IPAD Igowin or Igowin 12 is an accomplishment.

I'd love to see some games posted from Igowin - I hope to improve my 9x9 fuseki!

I didn't even know there was more than one version. The one I have was downloaded from the Kiseido web page over the summer. I did so after a disk crash but it looks like the same one as before. It does learn and has been so easy to beat it at 6d recently. It was much harder before my disk crashed.

No idea how igowin behaves in the dans. I've never got beyond 2k. The about dialog states Igowin 1.0
