Post subject:  What would you bring?

I'm going to Japan soon and I won't have time to play lots of games online like I usually do to improve. So while I'm there, I will bring offline training tools. One of these tools is Gokyo Shumyo (I already did a few of the problems. Tsumego in book form is so pleasant compared to sitting at the PC!).

The question I shall pose to you is this. What other training tools should I bring to Japan.

Here are the things I'm considering right now.

-My board, stones and some pro kifu (Probably commented ones from invincible or modern games with no comments)
-Printed Xuanxuan Qijing problems to do after Gokyo Shumyo. (I can print with or without solutions, which do you think is best?)

So what do you think about the items I'm considering? And do you have any books you would bring if you were me? Any suggestions? ^_^

Consider the training tools that are suitable for a tygem 4d

Thanks

I would leave that and just buy a copy over there with the solutions.

I agree with oren, there are so many resources over there, including local clubs, I don't know if there's anything you could bring for go that you couldn't find easily there.

If anything I'd prefer a smartphone or something similar with a few apps installed on it. I can't count how many times it's been useful to pull out my phone and be able to do problems while traveling or waiting somewhere.

If you are going to be in Japan for a longish time then it might be to some advantage to buy everything you'd want over there, including board and stones. In any case, if you would want to buy some go books two places to try are the bookstore in the Nihon Ki-in main building and the used book store Akashiya Shoten, both of these being in Tokyo. If you want to avoid buying things you already have, your edition of XuanXuan QiJing might be better than what you could find easily in Japan. I only saw the Hashimoto Utaro edition when I was there and I think it is somewhat abridged compared to more recently compiled Chinese editions.

Greetings,
this may be a daft questions, but if you have no time for online games why do you have time for off line training?
It is easy to get plenty of on line gamEd here.
don't know
how long you are staying but I donT think you need board and stones either.
if you are traveling light why not just paper and plastic and then use othe rpeoples tools? A bit horrible perhaps.
Where are you staying?
