I'm asking this question because the late World Champion chess master Bobby Fischer married a Japanese woman. I can't imagine him not being aware of the Chinese game Weiqi. Does anybody know if he said anything about Go before he died?

Hopefully it was something along the lines of "I like chess better", unless you like to imagine him dying a sad man old man full of regrets from a wasted life.

He was a tad demented in his later years. Even if he had an expressed opinion about go, I'd probably not give it any weight.

For those who are interested in what he said, I predict that if he said anything, it will be: "The <insert ethnic group here> are conspiring to ruin go."

This is perhaps a bit of an understatement. He showed serious signs of mental illness as early as his late teens.
