When shapenaji calls Takemiya's moves "crazy," I think he means it in an endearing way. There is nothing particularly "whacked out" about Takemiya's style, it's just that he tends to favor influence over territory. The point of the test is that if you too like to play influential moves, the san ren sei will presumably be a good opening for you. That's the point I was trying to make before: the san ren sei, in my experience, is an opening that rewards consequential influence-oriented play, and while that might cause you to loose ground early on, you have good chances to make up for it later. My score of 250 probably resulted from stubbornly choosing the most influence oriented moves available.

my apologies, I meant no disrespect. I am the first to admit I am very irreverent at times, it was not my intention to disrespect Takemiya. In the short time I have been researching Go, I have read nothing but nice things about him, and how accessible he is, compared to other pros.
