Ke 9p has done no short job of stirring interest for this rematch.

Quite interestingly, it happens to be Lee Sedol 9p who has come across a player doubting the sustainability of his strength.

I'm rooting for Lee Sedol, but I think Ke Jie will win this.

Ke Jie won against Lee Sedol in the Samsung cup, he's younger but stronger (> 100 pts on go ratings), and has an incredible record this year. It'll definitely be a tough fight for Lee Sedol.

For this level of Go, I am unqualified to say who is "stronger". I've watched games by Lee Sedol before where his moves seemed weird or bad to me... But then he'd end up winning. I haven't seen many of Ke Jie's games, but I imagine it'd be a similar phenomenon.

Simply put, the level is too high for me to distingish even if I'm comparing their game records.

That being said, Ke Jie's record is amazing, and it seems that he has momentum. Based on this, I would say that I'm "sure" that Ke Jie will win. Not sure because I have any understanding of that level of Go, but just sure because of what I've seen in terms of his game results to date.

tl/dr: I think Ke Jie will win, but the only thing I have to base this on are his game results and what other pros think.

BTW, the winner gets about 280K USD, the loser about 93K.

Out of curiosity, will the final be shown on Baduk TV? Been out of the loop for quite some time now!

Yes, but it'll be a delayed live, as usual.

Awesome news. That's fine with me. Any idea how much of a delay, though?

Ke Jie is, definetely, in a row. He's beaten Lee Sedol on their most recent games, but still, a final is different. There's a lot of psychological influences. Ke Jie's proved he can maintain his cool. I think it will be a hard fight, but I'd give a slight edge for Ke.

What time will the games be played? Because I checked on Baduk TV guide just now and the games are not scheduled. The first one is on the 30th, right?

I've just checked their schedule too and they don't seem to be doing a live broadcast for this tournament. This is of course not normal; very weird.

BadukTV's owner has changed recently from CJ (Samsung's brother company) to Korean Baduk Association (KBA). Maybe this is related.

Anyways, Ke Jie's won. That makes him a world champion for the third time in less than a year. What did you guys think of the games?

Ke Jie hasn't won yet: he leads the 5 game match 2-1, though I don't fancy Lee's chances of a comeback.

Hahaha Sorry! I thought it was a three games series! Nevermind! But, anyways, it seems that Baduk TV is going to broadcast all games, starting from the 6th, and game 5 will be live tomorrow 13:00 KST.

Well, well: 2-2 now. I hope Lee can prove me wrong! I presume they keep alternating colours (and not a final nigiri) so Ke Jie is white in the final game which he likes. I wonder if he will do the same right side opening that they both won with in the last two games. Looking forward to a great match!

They will do nigiri for the final game(If it is odd numbered match.).
