A new pro has joined the Japanese ranks. She is Cho Kosumi 張心澄. A fourth-generation pro. Who Does She Think She Is? Well, for starters: she is the great granddaughter of Kitani Minoru, granddaughter of Kobayashi Koichi and Kobayashi Reiko, and eldest daughter of Cho U and Kobayashi Izumi. She qualified as an insei at age 13, but will be 14 next month. (And isn't that a LOT more interesting than the latest Katago network?_ |

I hope she will handle the pressure which might be pretty strong. Another good news is that there is new (though female only tournament) Hakata Tamachi Cup. Joanna Missingham played (but was eliminated by Mukai Chiaki)! Coincidence? I dont think so! |

Quote: Hakata Tamachi Cup. Joanna Missingham played (but was eliminated by Mukai Chiaki)! Coincidence? I dont think so! It's the Hakata Kamachi Cup, and as far as I can seen Joanne was eliminated by Nyu Eiko. Sumire lost in the prelims. The really interesting news from Hakata, though, is the apparent revival of the status of the local dialect. It's now being used in news bulletins there. It's worse than Kansai-ben, which many Tokyo-ites can cope with because of manga and so on. They say "nan ba shiyo tto" for "nani o shite iru ka". Lang may their lums reek ower yon brae broo! |

Yes, by Nyu Eiko - i somehow mixed her with Xie Yimin (she was elimnated by Mukai Chiaki , not Joanne Missingham) , my bad. Edit: I get that info from this site https://gotoeveryone.k2ss.info/news/jp/kamachi/1/ (its one of the very few sited for non eastern speaking ppl, if someone knows better let me know). |
