Thank-you for sharing lovelove.

It was a nice, peaceful match.

I would enjoy hearing their thoughts on this game, and how the previous attempted matches, and time in between, may have affected this game.

I'd say Lee Sedol didn't want to think too much and (therefore) save his energy, so just make the game easy. I think he can easily win against those western pros until no-komi. 2 handicaps would be even.

if i dare make comment on this game...
andy's selection of joseki :b11: in the beginning made this game very comfortable for white.

If Sedol pushes to like 4 handi on these guys, doesn't that expose AGA pro as a sham? Why risk it so early?

I think it might be possible to 3 handis, if Lee Sedol plays his best.

Don't worry. Even if that happened, the AGA pro system should not be considered a sham. Remember that the very first Korean and Chinese pros needed to take a couple stones against the top Japanese pros. The AGA pros are just starting out. It is somewhat natural that they are a couple stones weaker than the top player in the world. Baby steps!

Hi Magicwand. One of Lee Sedol's comments has been posted on go9dan.com. It is very brief:
Lee Sedol wrote:
Black's move 55 seems better to cut at w56. Allowing w to connect at 56 is a pretty significant territorial loss for B and white also gains an eye shape. Black 59 should have been at w60. I think at black 59, Andy was in byo-yomi. The game was still close but B, in byoyomi played some sequence that later w became favorable on board when B resigned. Andy has a good opening, at par with the pros in Korea and China. His mistakes came after he entered byo-yomi but overall, he is much stronger than I had anticipated.
Is there more extensive commentary available elsewhere?

No need for Lee to release a picture showing he has shot fish in a barrel before.

No, it would not expose an AGA pro as a sham. 100 years ago it was normal for a 9 dan to give a shodan pro three stones. In a match it would not be impossible for the 9 dan to force a handicap of 4 stones.

These days a normal handicap for a 9 dan to give a shodan pro is 2 stones. But there are 9 dans and 9 dans. Lee Sedol is one of the top few players in the world. Who knows how many stones he could give shodan pros?
