I was under the impression that 'masterpiece' was often used to describe those small loss against handicap games specifically, as opposed to general games of good play.
is a dual purpose play, combining attack and defense. It strengthens the White group while preventing the Black group from forming a base. It has become a textbook play, but I still like it. Simple and strong.

Doasku's play in game 7 is astounding. Black's position at move 57 looks reasonable, but after white's 58-60-62 tesuji the poistion suddenly look white-ish as a moyo appears out of thin air.
I'd actually played over Game 8 recently, although I had no idea who either of the payers were. I assumed one was Shusai, since the book also has the group capturing masterpiece in it, but I hadn't worked out who and I was too lazy to put it into a search tool.
