This is just the beginning of a game of mine and I wonder if the joseki after 9 is OK for White or if there's a better one available. Because I felt after the joseki (after 15) I would have needed to strengthen my lower group and thus would have lost sente. |

B's exchange of 5 for 6 is very favorable for W, who now has a stable group in B's original attempted sphere of influence. I see no need to reinforce it at this point and an approach at the top left seems in order. |

r8 seems wrong direction as black is happy to fix. p3 or q2 or p2 instead seems the right area, not sure of exact move. |

Acutally Mastergo says for the setting of White-K3, White-N3 and Black-Q4 that my move is by far the best one, even when additionally considering a Black-H3 stone. |

The only similar high-level example from GoGoD. P3 in the game (R5 below) appears to be the key point (as Uberdude suggested earlier). Letting Black get to it first was hard on White. At ![]() |

The snarky " Did you read? " is uncalled for. I would be careful trying to assign tone/intent, here. You can just as easily read it as a simple statement of fact and a question: "did you (mis)read?" |
