Anything worth studying. This is indeed. Let the stones speak to you. Do you know the purpose of each move?. If you dont like this approach you might search for this position ... |

It is called study GROUP for a reason. Those kids today dont want do their homework anymore. ![]() Both analyzing the moves and searching the position in pro games thereafter felt rather interesting to me. I will post my variations and search results later, but first let us give some time to the people who want to discover their own. |

it's just that you gave no context for this post. you showed a diagram of a go board... ok. if you want folks to analyze on their own, it'd still be informative to give context (e.g. "let's study this position") |

While I am very well aware that it is quite possibly not connected, I still think the fact, that this position is played by top dog pros almost exclusivly is remarkable and at least funny in any case. |

Black could just play the calm move at b. But what if black does want to play somewhere else? What is the continuation after the double approach of white b? |

If there is no stone at a, black has got this option But with a black stone at a, it can also play like this: |

Perhaps white could think about this move, but this was never played by the pros? |

And now to something completely different: Pro games: 232 x a 91 x b |

In this interesting game white endures (or should we say welcomes) the double approach in a similar favourable way. |
