I also clicked "like" before I started.  What's so cool about this exercise is that it makes you look at the whole board, think about the status of the groups and count. It's not a particularly grueling task- though my counting did get sloppier towards the end. It took me about 30 mins altogether - how long did others spend?. I got 8/10 right. |

The board shown is the final position before resignation, so if black resigned it would be black's turn, but if white resigned it would be white's turn. Hence Magicwand's comment abount counting the moves. In retrospect it might have been a bit nicer to add the prisoner count, but my feeling is that a capture should be visible on the board, from the hole it left behind. The problems are a bit harder this way, but not too much. |
