Thanks to a sponsor, I offer ca. 5 to 10 hours (depends on quality) free teaching on KGS or in written form for one talented young player. Applicants to <jasiek@snafu.de> please state real name, country, age and shortly but accurately describe their talent or send a few SGFs.

sounds interesting. What qualifies as "young"?

I will not use a strict upper bound for "young" but consider both ages and talents of the applicants. First guess might be about U18 but if there is hardly anybody U18, then ca. U25 is still valid. If many apply, then maybe U12 is more likely, unless talent of some "old" young player is particularly impressive.

Luckily I know for a fact that I'm neither talented nor young, so I don't have to think whether I would qualify or not

does 22 still counted as young?
i'm from Indonesia, start playing go 2 years ago n got KGS 4 kyu in less than 1 year.
this year i haven't improve much cz i stop playing often since there's to much assignment from my university.
still, my play is a bit unstable.
sometime i play so brilliant i could beat KGS 1 dan in an even game but on the other time i got beaten by KGS 5 kyu also in an even game.

@Jasiak: I'm neither young nor particularly talented, but I am curious. I infer that there is a benfactor who is sponsoring the teaching of go on KGS, and that he pays strong players such as yourself to do it. Can you tell us the scope of this project? Is it just a one-time event? Or will it continue? Are there other teachers being paid?
Thanks

It is a one-time event of one sponsor for only me as the teacher and he has set the conditions young and talented. He was my pupil but then has had so much work with his job that he could not continue taking lessons. He was very satisfied with the teaching though (IIRC, having become 4 ranks stronger quickly due to it) and so decided to do me and the young talent the very nice favour.

Why are you looking for young talent people? seems a bit weird imo.

Wasn't his choice.

These two conditions were set by the sponsor.

(In regular teaching, I accept of course all pupils regardless of age or initially present talent. Talent can be created for pupils with the principle ability to surpass their average achievements of an activity significantly.)

Because the future of go is in teaching the old...

Robert:
for a person who is very meticulous about exact definition of each term...
young and talented seems very vague.
just a thought.

If I wanted to be much more precise about these words, then my effective income per hour would drop unreasonably:) Viewed from a different angle, "talent" could be something available for a precise definition but... so far my definition skill has reached a subset of strategic concepts (ko, influence, thickness etc.). Conceptually talent is quite some definition semantics levels higher. Ask me again in 20 or 30 years if I can define it then for Go. So far I lack sufficient talent for defining "talent" precisely in general ;)

Actually, if you ask me what a talent is, I have a perfectly scientific definition :
