Apparently Kiseido's having a summer sale that's going to last for about 2 months. This time they are giving a 10% discount and free shipping if you get 5 books.

Guess I need to decide which 5 books to get, though I might pass since I haven't even started some I bought from the Christmas sale.

I downloaded the sample chapter from Kato's Attack and Kill, which I liked and it looked like a bargain for a $10 pdf. Instead of using PayPal, for which I have an account, Kiseido uses ClickandBuy. I registered during check out, and then I was asked to verify my bank account/credit card by authorizing two small charges ($1.00-1.99). Nothing has shown up online for my account, though several bills that I paid this morning have appeared. Perhaps ClickandBuy is closed on Sunday? I'm surprised that Kiseido doesn't take direct payments. And now I am concerned after reading complaints online against ClickandBuy. I can handle a loss of $3.00, as long as no other charges get posted to my account, but I really wanted this "book."

I also saw that it was on Joaz Banbeck's list of + books (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4075). If you haven't heard of this out-of-print book, it was translated by John Fairbairn, a writer with a nice, smooth style (IMHO).

Friday evening here and I still haven't been charged by ClickandBuy for the Kiseido pdf of Kato's Attack and Kill. Perhaps the consumer complaints against ClickandBuy have some validity...

I have also felt really tempted to purchase the whole pdf bookshelf collection from Kiseido... but that ClickandBuy thing just doesn't feel right. I can't find any solid info about it on Google, which just about tells me to stay away. I do, however, desire those ebooks... Image

All I can tell you is that ClickandBuy never sent their "test charge" to my bank account. And that there exist many complaints about the company based on a Google search.
