Post subject: | Go App Survey |
Hey Guys, I'm trying to develop a app to help study go for a project in school, and i need to get people to take this survey for "market research" so i have a good idea of the audiences ideas. below is the problem i am trying to solve with this app, and the proposed solution i aim to fix with my app. if you would take a few mins and check it out, thanks. the link is at the bottom of the post. also, if you have any comments, please, i need all the help i can get here lol. Thanks Alot! -Matt Problem: Studying Go is hard. Many people find the best way to study is to get together with some friends, grab a set, and review games, solve problems, and critique each other’s game. But it can be hard to do! However, many places tend to not have enough local players. Many people choose to solve this problem by playing online, and using the text chat feature on Go servers as a means of studying. Thou online go servers have been a solid substitute, technological limitations lead current options to be just not the same as a real life review, which Epic 围棋 is designed to give them. Solution: My mobile application, Epic 围棋, is designed to replicate studying Go on a real board, talking to your friends and playing out a game for review, or pitching ideas for a difficult problem. My app combines the aspect of having a digital board and the ability to chat to your friends just like in a real life study group. The mobile app aspect allows you to sit wherever you want, on a train to work, at the breakfast table, or lying on your bed, and connect up with your friends/contacts, and study with them. The virtual board allows for you to play on it as closely as to a real board as possible, and pull problems and game records from the app itself, or save in your own. Heck, if you have a larger device, like an iPad, you can just lie it down and play on it just like a normal board. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5GRTNHL |

Your survey has a question "7. Rate How intrested you would be in these features" followed by a set of questions, each with six buttons to show degree of "intrest". But there is no indication of what the buttons mean. |

For the questions that ask for how interested you're in a feature (question #7, I believe), do larger numbers mean "more interested" and would "1" basically be "not very much interested"? You also lumped everyone over 40 into one category! ![]() |

Thanks! Submitted my answers. One feature that I would value is a way to mark dead stones. There is an app that allows you to play in real time (over internet without a Go server) with another person already, and it has text chat, but it doesn't allow manually marking of dead groups and instead does it itself, without doing it correctly. That made it unusable right there. |
