Interesting. I guess it's the cheapest way to get the GoGoD game collection. |

The previous version had 40,275 games. That is quite a bump. Still no games from 2013, though. (minor quibble) |

Here's some more information on the new version: http://smartgo.com/blog/20130716.htm There will be games from 2013 once I get the next update from GoGoD. Also, due to technical reasons, the current version is missing about a thousand games from the official GoGoD collection: all the old games with a starting position that includes white stones. These will be added in a future update. The bad news is that SmartGo for Windows is temporarily unavailable, as the license for the old collection has not been renewed. It will take a while to integrate the GoGoD collection and release a new version. |

Thanks, Anders, now that was really nice of you. I’d love to join the beta test if then it is ready for testing but I assume it will be some time till then … heck, I’d even pre-purchase it. Greetings, Tom |

I miss a move slider in iPhone version... I think it could be included in some way. Good that it's still on iPad. I like new design. Nice work! However i found the blank white space around the board a little distracting. And in iphone version these two sliders for expanding txt space and tree view - i would prefer to have them disappear after a second or two. Next - maybe some kind of tags for better organization of games? |

I am having difficulty placing stones on the top and bottom line of the board on my iPad 2. The app treats all touches as adjustments to the borders of the comment area (top) and game tree area (bottom). The only way to place a stone on the top or bottom line is by touching further into the board and sliding my finger to the edge. The behavior is completely different than on the left-most and right-most lines, where I can consistently play a stone by directly tapping those lines. I think this is significantly different than in the previous version, but it is too late to directly check of course. ![]() |

I've just purchased this, and have what is probably a very basic question. I'm playing a game on DGS - how do I take that game into Smartgo on the Ipad so that I can look at it there? |

First download the game on your computer, then you have several options; 1. You can send yourself an email, then on iPad Mail app, long tap the attachment, and then select "Smartgo kifu". 2. Or if you have dropbox or similar installed, you could copy the game to the dropbox sync folder, then on iPad, just open the Dropbox app, download the game, and use "Open In" option to open the game in Smartgo kifu. 3. You could also add the game to iTunes share folder, then sync via iTunes. |

Thanks very much for the swift and helpful response. Just to confirm though - there is no way to get it going using only the Ipad? That's unfortunate if it is the case, as I purchased it mostly for when I am travelling. |

If you have a web connection you can use Go Eye, which has an in-built browser, to view sgfs straight from the web. Unfortunately, due to Apple restrictions, regular iPad browsers can't download files for opening by other apps. |

Why not just copy the adress of the sgf, I know dgs provides a download link for all games. Go to My games in Smartgo Click on the plus sign in the lower left corner Click on Open SGF from Web Paste the adress and voila you are all set after pressing Done. |

Boidhre, you are wrong more than ever - I use iCab Mobile all the time, downloading/uploading any kind of files, dropbox integration, firefoxsync and 1000 other features. No restrictions. Only safari and chrome are crippled browsers. Others are much better. |

For Dragon Go Server from Safari you can also tap on "Download SGF", then Open in... SmartGo Kifu (or EasyGo, both have file type extensions enabled.) I don't see the need to do anything complicated, this is the standard way of opening files via Safari and iOS. |

Nothing more is needed. iCab has just a very good upload feature with full download manager which made my safari app getting dust ![]() |
