I'm starting to arrange more games with specific people on KGS (thanks ASR!), which involves sending more PMs. But I end up playing PM-tag with people, because I PM them while they're in a different window and then they PM me while I'm in a different window. Short of getting a bigger monitor, the best solution would be if PM windows made beeps when you get a message (like chat windows in GMail, and most other messenger programs). Is there a sound effect that I can turn on? How?

If there isn't, maybe I can beg wms to add it someday... :)

I think it already does; it's like a phone-ringing noise.

Thanks, guys! I turned the volume off on byo-yomi and I think that turned the volume off on the "tells" too... hopefully now that I've turned the byo-beep back I won't have a problem.

pms could be just that tiny bit better if there were timestamps attached to it. i know its possible:P

i would also like the option to save my chats offline on my harddrive because that sometimes would help a lot:)

i could rant all day about tiny things that i would like to see adjusted (1000 character room msg limit, open list has no active games tab game if unchecked etc)
but KGS is still one of the best go servers i know:)

You can still copy and paste the chat in a word pad.

most of the ASR admins use skype and we put useful conversations in a group skype chat, which helps a lot. the negative thing about long conversations is that at some point the first part of the convo disappears and that can be very annoying. i don't quite know why KGS went for this approach, maybe wms can explain it sometime?
