When I try to place a stone, I very often need to press the mouse button about three times, before a stone is put on the board. The first clicks, where no stone is placed, I hear the 'ding'- sound for passing instead. I tried to reinstall, but didn't get rid of the problem. Any hints on what do do would be great!

Try unchecking "mouse anti slip system" option in configure.

It worked perfectly! - And I just recently activated that function, so that's it! Thanks mate.
