Hi everyone!

This is a game I've played recently against my PC (the most difficult level possible).
Would you be so kind to comment on it?
(I'd be deeply grateful if you could also point it out where White could have done better (as far as I know humankind is still unbeatable by machines in this area :)

Thanks.

43 looks like a useless -1 pt move to me.

I don't know against which program you played, but the strongest 9x9 AIs are at a pro level. Pros have lost some (even) showmatches on 9x9 already.

:b11: you can stretch out to G8. It protects the cut and gives you a threat to link to your stone on the left.

:b13: maybe consider F4, there is a threat to cut. If you are going to reinforce, I'd try B6.

:b15: i'd definitely play B6 now. G8 is bad, because it weakens your already weak group and only gains you a few points.

By :w16: , I think black has already lost, sorry. If I were playing I'd probably try something like C3 to complicate and hopefully make a comeback.

The 9x9 is not my forte, but I suspect that, giving komi, Black has already lost by :w12: .

I recommend contemplating the concept of influence. On a small board, one or two stones can make a huge difference.` Have a look at http://senseis.xmp.net/?Influence, and its sub-pages, then look at your game again.

Could you ramify, Joaz? I often find it hard to comment 9x9 games because, as we discussed in a different thread, it's a whole-board strategic struggle in a much more immediate sense than 19x19 games. It's very hard to make sense of "influence".

Sorry, no. It is not something that I understand well enough to explain. I look at the board around move 8 to move 12, intuitively it feels like white has a lot of power on 2/3 of the board. Heck, even the exchange of 4 for 5 feels bad for black. But it is just how it feels.
