I didn't play this game well, in my opinion. But then, that just mean it will emphasize my weak points, so it should be profitable to review (certainly more than this recent win of mine where my opponent misread an obviously broken (as in, one of the stone in atari from the start) ladder.)

And maybe my analysis is flawed and the mistakes I think contributed to my defeat are not actually the one that lost the game.

My opponent played well, meanwhile I made bad strategic decision made worse by me also failing tactically.

(There's plenty of variation because I tend to play a little bit too much with my sgf files. Not all of them are really meaningful. Also the occasional miss-clicks).

So which part of the games are the more facepalm worthy?

Move 45 was the neckbreaker for Black, from there the game went the wrong way (for Black). You should have let White live small in the corner while getting it sealed in sente. You wanted too much there. Sealing in a group at an early stage of the game, esp. sealing it into the corner, is very recommendable. Because experience shows that such a group has often no further potential and the influence towards the center is usually creating more points then the group in the corner. The way you played in 45 White got the chance to split two groups and go from there. You should have play Q14 at your move 45 and you are in good lead.

p.s. If I teach or give advice I usually go for the biggest mistake, because it focuses on only one thing and one can learn from it better than by hearing about dozen's of things and get lost. So that doesn't mean you didn't do mistakes till 45, just not big ones^^.

I realized this was a mistake, but not that it was this big. I thought, that even after that, it may have been playable, if I had, for example abandoned R12 and P11 with :b53:, using their aji to make a large framework. Because his would have two entry point, I think the game would be winnable as long as I managed to kill off the invasion (which is not promising given how well I handled the invasion when it came in the game, but I would be stronger here).

Well, I guess that's hoping the opponent would go along with my plan :).

I'm so stupid. I really can't explain why I didn't consider this. Of course, there's still the problem of having to run with my eyeless group, but it also doesn't help him making eyes so it may be playable.

Thanks to you both.

Better to start with 61 at R10? This looks like a situation where Black should be able to make at least a ko in this area.
