I'd estimate that you're between 20-25k. But just come on KGS an play a few games to learn what rank you are. Playing humans is more fun than playing an AI.

Move 47 in that game is not good, there's no need to do that right then. Understanding why this is so will raise your level. :)

Here's my advice:
While playing against gnugo is comfortable (always available, different difficulty levels, custom time limits), playing with it too much isn't good at all.

This is mainly due to its playing style: AI sometimes allow you to play moves a human player would never. AI fail to judge the life-or-death status of certain groups, so you can kill a group which should have lived.

Though most of us started training with gnugo (or MFOG), you should try to get onto human vs human games.

Another opinion.

I could be way wrong about this but I believe the AI opponents CAN be useful if used properly. Most of the criticism I see is most valid for the situation when they are being MISused.

a) To play even games, play against humans, not against the computer. As many people have explained it will not be making the same sort of mistakes as a human opponent would. In other words, while over all playing at some level it's not making the right/typical mistakes of a human player at that level.

b) To learn with the computer as the opponent it should have its strength setting set for several stones stronger than you are (and then you take the appropriate handicap). Now it should not be making mistakes expected of an opponent of your own level and should be able to punish you when you make a mistake (so you learn).

c) I am NOT meaning to say that it wouldn't be even better to be playing against a human opponent 4-5 stones stronger than you are. But is it likely to have a variety of human opponents willing to play a large number of games against you under those conditions? My opinion is just that playing a lot of games against a computer program set to be about that much stronger than you are might be a good way of learning compared to playing that same number of games against a human of your own strength (you make mistakes but your opponent isn't able to punish them).

d) This advice is also dependent somewhat on your level. More useful once your strength has gotten to the point where your computer opponent would be one of the strongest currently available. These are aggressive, good at fighting, and will not always make the same move in the same situation. You can't assme that the same program set to one of its weak settings will be a weaker version of the same (may be using a different algorithm and may be passive).

Any first win is a good game.

Move 47 is not necessary. It fills your own territory.
Look at the board at the end of the game. Remove the stone that you played at move 47. Now you have one more point.
Move 63 also is not necessary. It also fills your own territory, and loses one point.

Approximately 25 kyu.

You are not ready yet. On a small board, there is a shorter time between cause and effect. If you make a bad move on a small board, you will see the bad result sooner.

Please do not apologize. You speak English better than we speak Italian.
