A game I played on tygem, I'm white. Mainly after some comments on the fuseki but other comments are fine too.
Time limit was 10 minutes with 30x3 byoyomi.

Comments welcome from all strengths.

Thanks.

Black has a bad start, White's fuseki is better. Specifically: B25 is a mistake, pushing from behind, Especially if you're going to play B27 anyway. B31 should hane, IMO. White gets too much here.

W38: I would prefer N17, because a black approach of the upper right is sente, while an approach of the lower right is gote. B39 and B41 show this clearly. I like Black better now.

W42: Overplay

B43: Should be on top (N16)

W48: White gets some semblance of shape, but a cost to his corner.

W66-B69: All endgame moves, not urgent. White should play L15.

W82: Big. With the successful invasion of the top area, White is in the lead and can play for points.

B83: Bad. Pushing from behind again.

W88: Dubious. Now Black can cut and hunt a weak group. I would prefer K2.

W98: Losing move. White just needs to make his group alive asap and make sure black can't make too many points in the center. I would play L7.

Wouldn't change the result, but isn't the top left seki shape?

Edit: I suppose there is a throw-in ko choice for white, but I think black has too many threats.

What is your sequence illluck? I think there isn't a seki or ko, white can just live. for eg. if black b18 then a17 b19 a18 and then c19 looks like a tesuji but here white can just b17.

I may have missed something though. :batman:

Aphelion, that line of resistance by white is the throw-in ko possibility:

B18 B19 A17, then white has choice of seki and throw-in ko.

Also, professionals consider white 40 to be better placed at Q15.

28: This feels premature. I can't say that it is wrong, but I'd have played F3. You really need to come away from the lower left with sente to play N17 or similar.

38: I agree with Herman here: the upper left is sente for black. However, if he is right, the fact that you have to play a 2-space gote up top while conceding a 4- or 5-space extension at the bottom to you opponent reinforces my opinion that 28 was premature.

40: Submissive, but I can't see that anything else is better. P14? O16? White needs to get out.

92-98: Why are you picking a fight when black has all of the influence? Maybe 92 at N6? H5? L7? It seems that the last thing that white wants to do is make black play moves like M6 and M7.

By move 100, black looks way better.

Do you know their reason for this? Maybe just better shape

Yeah F3 looks good.

What do you think of jumping in at m17 immediately instead of defending the corner? Or maybe the shoulder hit at n16? It would turn into a fight but it's definitely less submissive.

Probably. Perhaps the played move is considered a little overconcentrated by professional standards. Also, the played move is likely to be subject to a forcing move on the outside, while the other is not as vulnerable.
