so i re-registered on tygem as 14kyu since that's my kgs rank atm and i just get slaughtered at 17-18kyu on tygem but i heard there are more true to rank games the lower you get. anyway. nervous out of my mind in this game but the tygem estimator was telling me i had a 17 point lead late. 3-3 invasion killed me though. i was already out of time at that point (i have been urged to read more during games but how do you not run out of time? happens to me every game that goes late) and it probably would have taken me 20 minutes to read out that area regardless even though i do 20-30 mins of tsumego a day. bah. those 3-3s always get me.

anyway because my opponent was near my level this made for a more competitive game than usual on tygem so i'm interested in any comments anyone has. god i was so nervous during this game though. go really gets my heart racing when things are competitive (or at least SEEM competitive to me, my opponent felt much more skilled and imo his moves seemed a lot better than mine, the estimator was probably wrong)

i'm white. also fyi i have NO idea how to play as white in opening. so i play very conservatively :/

I personally get into byo-yomi in every single game I play in online. Through plenty of experience being in it I've just gotten used to playing in it. One trick when you're trying to read out something complicated but you're in the middle of playing simple yet necessary moves (such as extending from atari or blocking first-line hanes) is to not play the obvious move right away, but spend your byo-yomi period reading out the complicated sequence. Then play your obvious move in the final couple of seconds of your period. Other than that, just more experience playing in byo-yomi might help.

As for your comment about not knowing how to play white in the opening, I think you're overthinking things, especially at your level. Until you get to the level where people are playing well-established fusekis against you, you don't really have to play white any differently than you should play black - approach and enclose corners, extend from corner enclosures, play on the fourth line for development or third line for territory, approach your opponent's fourth-line stones, don't crawl on the second line, etc. There's a lot to keep of principles to keep track of, but they're exactly the same for both white and black.

Anyway, here's my review of your game. I hope you find it useful.

As Dusk Eagle pointed out, there is a huge pending problem at B13. However, it has been there since W106. If we assume that Black would not have seen it for at least another move or two, then W214 was the losing move. White can not turn F19 into a point, so 214 at E19 was a pass. If White had played at K16 instead, White would have gained two points and threatened a third at K17. As long as Black does not find B13 now, White will win. For example...

It seems after 215 in the game, White will lose by half a point.
