I was wondering if anyone could take a look at this game and maybe make some suggestions at what I'm doing wrong. I've found my progression up to 10k fairly smooth but now I keep getting myself in a mess with either my opponent building a much larger framework than I mine or I end up spawning loads of weak groups which get chased round the board. This game is fairly typical example (there's a stupid mistake I make at move 139, where I must have had a brain fart, which costs me rather heavily at the top of the board but even ignoring that I'm fairly certain white had the game)

Thank-you very much for that. Going back over the game I was trying to remember what I was thinking when I made certain moves and your comments made me realise that I often get overly focused on one particular outcome which can blind me to better alternatives. A good example is my response to white 64, I was completely intent on trying to keep all the stones in that area connected it didn't even occur to me that there might be an alternative. I think I need to make more effort to consider the impact of my plays if I want to avoid, as you say, harming my own stones.

I might try and see if I can pick up the book on attack and defence you mention in your guide, it sounds rather good.

Try playing at least a little more slowly. You played your first 113 stones in 600 seconds (entering byo yomi on Black 225) or an average of 5.3 seconds per move. That isn't enough time to think about anything really. You responded to White 64 in 2 seconds. It is no wonder that you did not see any alternatives.
