Mmm, I thought this game was going well at first. Then I realized my opponent took many points in the endgame but still I was shocked when I saw the final score...

Was I completely wrong from the start?

We can criticize earlier plays, OC, but where your game starts to go bad is around move 100, mainly from playing too passively.

:b97: should be a solid connection, OC, to keep White from connecting with sente.

B103 is passive, and does not make much territory. Besides, it is not clear that it is best locally. The solid connection at Q-11 looks better, because it threatens to invade White on the right side. In fact, even an immediate R-08 is a possibility.

Elsewhere on the board E-02 prevents White from cutting off the Black stones in the center left, and threatens the clamp at C-02. The kosumi at B-10 looks like sente for Black, and the top left corner is big. (The top left corner would be much bigger if Black had made the solid connection with :b97:.

B107 is not a bad play in itself, but Black cannot afford to give up sente now, after White's successful invasion.

B109 is passive. Surely it would be better at K-10, especially after B107. The saying is, Don't let the double keima get away.

B111 is also passive. The books may say that W110 is double sente, but they lie. K-10 is better, as are E-02 and jumping into the top left corner.

W112 secures the top left corner. I think that White has the lead, now.

Main focus: Avoid passive play. Black lost a nice lead with only a few passive plays.

Thank you for the review, Bill. That makes sense. I need to stop answering every move by an automatic local play, I got into a bad habit of doing that lately.
