Primary scores are equal to the number of wins: a player get one point per won game. When players are tied on primary scores, the tie is broken by secondary scores. There are four types of secondary scores: A1, A2, B1, and B2. A1 is the sum of defeated opponents' primary scores. A2 is the sum of other opponents' primary scores. B1 is the sum of defeated opponents' secondary scores. B2 is the sum of the other opponents' secondary scores. Ties on primary scores are broken by comparing A1, ties on A1 are broken by comparing A2, and so on.

Primary scores: In an elimination or round-robin tournament, standings are determined by primary and secondary scores. Primary scores are equal to the number of wins: a player gets one primary point for each won game. When players are tied on primary scores, the tie breaker is determined by the secondary scores.

Secondary scores: Nowadays, the tie-breaker system using secondary scores is very popular internationally. There are four major components of the secondary scores: 1) S is the total number o won games, 2) B is the total number of lost games, 3) JH is the sum of the primary scores of all the opponents, and 4) FH is the sum of the secondary scores of all the opponents. there are the following combinations of secondary scores a) SJH, b) BJH, c) SFH, and d) BFH, which can be used to determine the final standings.

則可產生四種輔分 ﹕(A)SJH(B)BJH、(C)SFH、(D)BFH。依次計算應可排出優勝名次。

I'm not sure I understand the 1996 rules for tiebreakers at all. Is it the same or different from the 1991 rules?

I think the 1991 rules are saying that:
A1 is the same as SODOS (aka SDOS)
A2 is the same as SOS
B1 is SODO-A1, or SODOSODOS (aka SDOSDOS)
B2 is SO-A1 or SOSODOS (aka SOSDOS)

where I think
SODOS/SDOS - Sum of Defeated Opponent's Score
SOS - Sum of all Opponent's Score
SODOSODOS - Sum of Defeated Opponent's SODOS
SOSODOS - Sum of all Opponent's SODOS

In other words, have I got this right?
Code:
                    wins  a1  a2  b1  b2   place
player A   E+ C+ B+   3    5   5   5   5    1st - clear win
player B   F+ D+ A-   2    3   6   1   6    2nd - tiebreak a1
player C   G+ A- F+   2    2   5   1   6    3rd - tiebreak a1
player D   H+ B- G+   2    1   3   1   4    4th - tiebreak a1
player E   A- G- H+   1    0   4   0   6    6th - tiebreak b2
player F   B- H+ C-   1    0   4   0   5    7th - tiebreak b2
player G   C- E+ D-   1    1   5   0   3    5th - tiebreak a1
player H   D- F- E-   0    0   4   0   1    8th - clear loss

What have I misunderstood?
