hello to all.. signed up over the weekend but i only had time to introduce myself today.. i live (and work) in brazil as an english/ spanish teacher (yeah, forgive the lack of correct punctuation here).. although i played "atari-go" as a child with my parents i dropped go at a young age.. the way i "came back" to go was this: i like to supplement the classes with audio/ video.. one student asked if she could bring in a dvd for us to watch in class and she brought the english dub of hikaru.. she lent me the series and i brought back great memories of my childhood.. so with that i started playing, this time "for real".. |

Welcome to L19! Do you ever go to the São Paulo Go Center? I am very curious to hear how the club is doing, but no one I speak to has any news. |

Do you want a bunch of unranked 9x9 or 13x13 games on OGS for practice? I can't teach you really but I can help you get a lot more games in which is one of the key ways of getting better. ![]() |

I promised you a review. Probably one of the stronger players can give you a better one but this explains why I won: Apologies for any mistakes or errors. None of my ideas should be taken as the way to play. For instance I don't mention it but d3 or f3 would be fine opening responses to a tengen opening on 9x9. The shapes I talked about: Bent four in the corner: http://senseis.xmp.net/?BentFourInTheCorner Rectangualar six in the corner: http://senseis.xmp.net/?RectangularSixInTheCorner Straight three: http://senseis.xmp.net/?path=LifeAndDea ... eEyeshapes (part of this list. Get to know these, it's very helpful!)

I would be afraid to attack before building myself up. |
