I started playing Go 3 weeks ago after I bought my Kindle Fire and noticed a Go app and rediscovered how beautiful this game is.

I tried to learn Go 25 years ago but couldn't find opponents and gave up after a year. Now of course we have the Internet and computers and I can take a more serious stab at it. I've bought a few books already and plan to buy Many Faces of Go 12 next month. I have DGS and AGS accounts but mostly play on Go Shrine as Trebuchet. I'm not rated yet but am probably around a 25k player at this point so my progress has been slow but I 'm having fun so the numbers don't matter.

I hope to find some local players but have had no luck so far but hopefully there are so Go players in the El Paso area.

Didn't even realize there was a go kindle app, that's awesome... Good luck with your studies!

Not a single player listed on kgs from el paso :(

I'll try New Mexico as well. I can't believe I 'm the only Go player in a city with 600,000 people.

Hi there SCWilson! I'm new here but wanted to let you know I'm from El Paso too! Maybe we could get together some time to play and discuss go. My nick on KGS is Alan56, same for Tygem. I'm usually on in the evening or very early morning, if you want to play. Pm me if you wanna discuss about meeting. Glad to finally find someone in el paso that also plays go.
