Registration for the 2024 US Go Congress in Portland passed the 400 mark! Now’s the perfect time to consider submerging yourself in a week of Go in the beautiful Northwest USA. 20+ pros from around the world will give lectures, analyze games, and play simuls. There are a dozen tournaments to choose from, including the US Open, Lightning Go, and Pair Go. Plus, lighter events like Crazy Go, Costume Day, and Go Poetry. For the Wednesday day-off, there will be excursions to the Columbia River valley, the Japanese and Chinese gardens, and the world-famous Rose Garden. I went to all of these places at the 2008 Go Congress as a player and they really stick in my memory. Now, as an organizer, I’m looking forward to retracing my steps. “The 40th US Go Congress is just around the corner! Sign-up now to avoid higher late fees," says director Stew Towle. "After June 15th, registration fees will increase to $500 Adults / $250 Youth, as it becomes more challenging for us to make adjustments." You can sign up for the Congress here "While dorms and some nearby hotels are full, there are still affordable rooms at the University Place Hotel.
