Hi -

I just ordered a quick go board to help me teach my kids with from Yutopian but got to thinking about the look of their website, which seems to me in retrospect a bit sketchy-looking. The lack of emailed invoicing also struck me as strange. What's everyone's experience with orders from Yutopian? Any problems? If they're on the up and up, how's their delivery speed?

Todd

Yutopian.com is a major outlet of go books and equipment. They absolutely are a quality dealer. I've ordered from them, visited them at the 2012 US Go Congress, and have communicated with the owner. They've been in business for over 23 years.

Despite their website, they are a great source for go equipment and books.

Ok, good, thanks :). They could use some web help, though. :). I've only ever ordered go books and equipment from YMI and Amazon, so I'm a little lacking in exposure to other online sources.

Any hints on typical standard delivery times after ordering? I didn't find any info on their site concerning this.

Thanks,

Todd

I have ordered many books and an Agathis go board from Yutopian. Every transaction I have had has been flawless and speedy.

Yutopian is also the Kiseido dealer in the USA.

I would highly recommend them.

I've ordered before, with no problems. They are a reputable dealer.

The world of go players is a rather tight group. Nobody could run a scam for long without getting caught. Everybody knows everybody else, or at least someone who knows somebody else. Anybody with the slightest character flaw has it documented on this forum. :-?

Greetings,
both Slate and Shell, and Kiseido (especially if you are in Japan) give absolutely first rate service in my experience.
Best wishes,
Buri (Gifu Ken)

For a not so positive experience with Yutopian, read viewtopic.php?p=86998#p86998

I have mixed results. Usually it's when I try to talk with person or when they don't update their stock info is when I have worst problems. If you can avoid this, then I think you will have good experience.

Anyone know anything about shipping costs overseas? I live in Australia, and $30 shipping for an agathis board, stones and bowls doesn't seem right (when normally it exceeds $200 on other sites). Will they charge me extra for int. shipping?

Except for one instance where I got the wrong order of book, I've never had any problems with Yutopian. Great selection of books, playing equipment, and prompt service (at least within North America; I've never ordered from outside the US). In fact, I've just ordered 2 books from them :)

Been wanting to pick up some Ing stones to leave in local places for people to play with, but Yutopian's site is down.
