After reading some advice here on how to improve one's game, I would like to try studying (or memorizing) pro games and see how it works out.

If I want to look up pro games based on opening (say, Chinese style as black, or double star points as white), would there be any tool that I can use? It would be even better if the games are commented.

Thanks!

Don't know about looking up particular openings / patterns, but here is a bunch of nicely commented games: https://gogameguru.com/get-better-at-go ... -go-games/

Edit: seems you can do the pattern search here, the games won't be commented though: https://badukmovies.com/pro_games/pattern_search

Antti (Tien) once made a guide to study pro games, and I think it's quite helpful; you can find it here: http://gooften.net/essays/tens-guide-to ... nal-games/

On the other hand, the book Invincible has 80 nicely commented games, with maybe 60% of them using the same opening (Shusaku's fuseki). I think it can provide around 120-160 hours of enjoyable study.

Also, you can make pattern searchs using this site: http://ps.waltheri.net/, and althought I don't know if you can download the games from there, all of them probably are at gokifu.com

Cheers

These aren't separated by style, but a lot of good recent pro games here.

If you want to do by style, you would have to gather a lot of commented sgf (or note which sgf are commented), make a database, and a do a pattern search.
