Re: MTG?

You don't actually need to swing with a creature to deal damage with Goblin Grenade, but... the creature you sacrifice must be a Goblin, so unless it's a Tuktuk the Returned token, I don't know of many things that you can sac to both Atog and Goblin Grenade.

Or one of my favorite new cards ...

Re: MTG?

EDIT: I read lamentation above about the new combat damage system resolving as instants... wasn't it always like that? That's why my Atog deck even worked, as instant effects resolve in reverse order - otherwise it would die before you could pump it up.

Or am I misreading, and rather than ...

Re: Starcraft, pros and tournaments

While we can't really have a Baduk2, we can take advanage of the other factor leading to SC2's popularity: the increasing capabilities the internet gives us. SC2 as an esport is becoming more popular through the proliferation of livestreams.

Livestreams and internet broadcasting are helping a lot ...

Re: Starcraft, pros and tournaments

I recall some really good articles on teamliquid about this but can't seem to find them right now. Teamliquid has some great articles in general you might start with their showcase . This one in particular might interest you. You might find some related information in this post or here .

Re: Question about Daily Joseki method

How does it determine which test to give you next? ... How is the EF adjusted each time? Does it take into account how long it's been since it's shown you that position?

Short answer: I read lots of stuff while making the study algorithm, but it follows the below reasonably closely:

Re: Which time settings do you like?

I started off with the standard kgs setting but have been playing 15 + 5x0:30 lately; I still find anything under 30 sec. byo-yomi to be too fast though.

Re: Question about Daily Joseki method

That is a weird one. Without checking, my guess is that this shows why automatically getting moves is better than hand-entering them. Perhaps it is from old games or something? It found 30 examples, so it's actually not that rare... Looks like a good move to confuse people with!

Re: Question about Daily Joseki method

Recently I've noticed some weird lag, for example move attempts showing up in different orders. Are you using ajax queries for each move? If so, can't you just load the whole sequence client side?

Gah, I've been waiting for someone to call me on that, you get the prize. You guys are finding ...

Re: Question about Daily Joseki method

Edit: After trying to adjust this position and going back to the study view it asked me how hard it was to remember and this was the first time I'd studied that sequence.

I should probably word that "how easy will that be to recall?" the first time you see a test. ^^ (the reason you may not have ...

Re: Question about Daily Joseki method

I just had this position occur while studying and it finished the sequence too early and I wasn't able to advance it any further along. Since I can't link to that position here's a picture of the sequence:

Capping reduction with opposing corners.

This position occurred in a game of mine and I wasn't sure how to play; I'm somewhat familiar with the cap as a reduction against an entire side formation but haven't really seen it used when the corners are controlled by different players.

Re: Question about Dailiy Joseki method

I actually use it personally to do pretty broad surveys; I added three things to my queue, one with three moves (a pincer), and two with two moves (two different approaches to 3-4 stone). But I can see what your problem is; if I added a two-space pincer as well as the one-space one, I'd never know ...
