That old sensei was not a populist, was he? ;)

Well, people tend to believe they are the one sage, of course :)

Re: The connection has timed out

Okay, so this might be interesting. At 10pm eastern, I checked the joaz/mw's thread, and as bonobo described, while the diagrams in the first 8 post loaded immediately, the next 8 took 20 seconds, and the last few never finished loading at all. And after trying to access that thread, I wasn't able ...

Re: Arithmetic problem from Tobaku Haouden Zero.

This reminds me of an interpolation method I learned some 30 years ago
It gives one digit per iteration:

1.41421356 is too small (too short), and 1.41421357 is already too big,
so lets take them for lower bound 'L' and upper bound 'U', respectively.

Calculate L^2 and U^2 and see where ...

Re: Jerks you met on go severs?

What happens if the escaper comes back while you're away and makes another move? Who does the system assume now having escaped the game?

Perhaps the idea of being able to claim a forfeit after a reasonable amount of time (a day or two?), thus clearing up one's game list, could be really helpful. I ...

Re: OBITS - finished Malkovich games

The masses have clamored for it, so I'll be putting an updated list in here of all the games as they stand.

The big question for you guys: what information do you want to see associated with each game? I can do some thing like what was done above, or I could add more. I've compiled a lot of ...

As Tang Rules show, seki makes sense also without passes.

Yes, but in capture go there is "zugzwang", you can not simply end the game by agreement. Or am I missing something? :-?

This is the first time I hear about a new version of Tetsuki.

Apparently they renamed it to 'Panda-Tetsuki', so the old version doesn't get upgraded.
You have install it as a new app, but first of all you have to know it does exist...

Seems to have some minor ...

Re: math puzzle

( Dang, English is an imprecise language! )
I'm relieved others find it difficult to put their reasoning in words, too.

This is how I got there:

Probability of 'at least once' is 1 minus probability of 'never'.

After n games, probability of (for example) never being assigned Z is &#40 ...

Mef is right, it's the standard UI.
I changed the locale to English, but the problem remains. Could it be a Samsung issue? Which other phones had the same problem?
