I am a semi-beginner, but it would be helpful to the group if you don't limit your answers to just "beginner problems". If I'm lucky, this thread will serve as a resource for many. I can do a lot of legwork (probably slowly, but I'm game).
In this thread, I'm only interested in online resources or ...

Re: cant remeber username
Yes, your best bet for remembering your original account might be to try the same computer and browser that you used to create the account in the first place. The browser might have cached your credentials, and will log you in automatically. That will make it easier to discover what the user name is.

Robert, is Tactical Reading a book, or a technique (i.e. I can't find a book by that name).

Re: UliGo metric
If anything, the recent drop in KGS games was probably triggered by a non-Go event (or series of events): the beginning of browser restrictions on Java plugins. To be clear, that doesn't explain the 2012 drop... the restrictions started phasing in around the start of 2014. But I don't believe there ...

Not sure if you are replying to me. I put a link to the MoyoGo page (www.moyogo.com) in the previous post. The page is still there, and looks to be enabled to take your money, in an E-commerce sort of way. So I think it is still available.

Re: most noble non-shell stones?
The Algorithmic Artisan stuff sure is pretty, but most of them aren't in stock (asterisk means Sold Out), and will take 6 - 8 weeks for delivery. Plus the guy suggests talking to him before paying (probably to make sure you know about the long delivery times).

Re: Using computer go engine for game review
I will say that I hesitate to being this up, but there is a program that does exactly what you are asking (UPDATE: but it doesn't have a GTP interface, AFAIK... you have to manually enter the moves on the board). It's called MoyoGo ( http://www.moyogo.com/ ), and it costs $27 US. I have ...

Yes.
I believe (tongue in cheek) that it's a reference to Bob Dole who, during his Presidential campaign many years ago, held up a photo and said "Here's a picture of me, my wife, and my dog. My wife's on the right." A funny man, that Dole.

This is certainly a reasonable speculation on how the bug happens. It's *very* easy to create issues like this with improper multi-threaded programming (I know this from long experience).

Re: KGS Player -----> Wbaduk
Try sending the confirmation E-mail to another E-mail address, if you have one. Over the last few months, a scheme to combat spam called DMARC has been put into action by several major E-mail sites. Without going into detail, it tries to guarantee that the domain on the "From" address matches the ...

Re: Chinese go-sites
You probably already know this, but WBaduk is the English-language portal to a Korean site. However, they're a big site, with 3 servers dedicated to Chinese-language games. So, at least the chat on those servers would be in Chinese. Once you're fired up the Java applet to play/view games, click ...

Re: Setting up a bot
Generally, your bot has to implement the GTP protocol (m). Once you're at the link, click on the link on that page for "kgsGTP" to see the KGS-specific details, for instance.
[Update] Searching on this forum for "bot" or "GTP" could also be profitable. Here's a thread that gives links to open ...
